KALI GANDAKI RIVER JOURNEY |
Experience the Himalayas from your kayak, travel 140
km on the holiest river of the country, and visit remote villages and curious
people. This is the epic journey of a lifetime! |
|
This is the trip for paddlers who want to experience Nepal by kayak!
This two weeks epic paddling expedition takes place on the holiest river
of Nepal - Kali Gandaki, named after the godess Kali. As no previous white
water kayaking experince is needed for this trip we start with a riverrunning
introduction at the Royal Beach Camp on the Trisuli river. There we enjoy
the nice camp and stay in bamboo beach huts. We then move on to Pokhara
- with breathtaking views of the over 8000 meter surrounding Himalayan
peaks before setting out on our six day river journey down the Kali Gandaki.
We then learn and develop our paddling skills as we travel along and enjoy
nature, stunning views and the hospitality of the people living in this
seldom visited part of Nepal. Once on the river we are completely self-supported.
We camp on the riverbank.
After conquering Kali Gandaki and covering 140 km by kayak we head towards
the Chitwan National Park, the home of 420 different specious of birds,
one-horn rhinos, crocodiles, wild elephants, barking dears and Bengal
tigers. We get a chance to bath with elephants and visit Tharu villages
and see their traditional dances before we head back to the historical
city of Kathmandu for sightseeing and shopping.
