INSURANCE
The course is done on your own risk and students are responsible for having their own travel insurance including helicopter evacuation.
VACCINATIONS
Nepal has no official vaccination requirements for entry. However you will need a complete set of inoculations for Asia. Ask your doctor for advice.
VISA
Visa can be obtained at upon arrival for 30 USD . You will need two passport size photographs.
CURRENCY
The best currency to have is USD or Euro. Master Card and Visa are accepted in Nepal and there are ATMs for cash withdraws in major towns.
::: HIMALAYAN RIVER GUIDE COURSE :::
The Himalayan River Guide Course is the suitable course for those who wish to build a new career as a professional white water river guide. You will be taught by professional instructors with international qualification and many years of experience in Himalayan rivers. You will develop the necessary kayaking, rafting and outdoor skills.

The course takes place in the Royal Beach Camp and the surrounding mighty rivers of Nepal - a fantastic classroom!

The course is for beginner to expert paddlers. The course is designed to gradually and rapidly improve your existing kayaking skills. You also learn paddle raft guiding and get an introduction to canyoning. The course also include all the other aspects of guiding, as safety, river rescue, rope work, trip leading, equipment handling, trip logistics, outdoor cooking, customer care and much more.

During the course you will experience several days hike, reaching altitudes of 3000 meter, going on safari in the jungle of the Indian plains and over five hundred river miles by kayak and raft on some of the best river journeys in the Himalayas, if not in the world.

First we spend a week at Royal Beach Camp doing few different activities such as Kayaking, rafting, canyoning and river safety and rescue during the day and Nepali language class in the evening.

Rest of the time we will be moving around the country through the jungle, mountain pass and river gorge. Meeting local people, calibrating festivals and experience the Nepali culture.

Royal Beach Camp will provide you with all rafting equipment and a kayak for the duration of the guide course. You need to provide for your personal kayaking and camping gear.

::: PREREQUISITES:::
The guide course prepares for working in the outdoors so students should have a reasonable level of fitness. Participants should be strong swimmers and comfortable in the wate.Some previous kayaking experience is required. If you are a complete beginner we recommend one of our kayaking courses before starting the guide course (we also do kayak courses in Scandinavia during summer).

Valid First Aid and CPR certificates are recommended. It is not necessary to have certification for participating in the course, but it is required for employment in the white water industry.
